Muzzi Muz began DJing from the young age of sixteen. He started off mixing beats in his bedroom and later progressed to family and friends’ events. Inspired by many well-known DJs around the world, it was the radio personality, Derek Richardson (AKA Derrik The Bandit 5fm) who made Muzzi Muz recognise his talent and take his career forward. His undeniable talent saw him moving from smaller gatherings to different clubs. It was during this time which he and Stephan-G also known as French Affairs became well acquainted. It was not long until they recognised their common passion and drive which led them to the creation of the South African French Due ‘HOODYBROZZ’. The duo were inseparable and gained the recognition which they had been working so hard for. After a few good years of successfull DJing, the two decided to pursue solo careers along with continuing the duo.
Electronic dance music has been a part of him for a while and he is well-known for his brilliant trance sets. He is one of the best DJs within his genre in the South African club scene and is en route to cementing this title all over the world. Muzzi Muz has played in some of South Arica’s finest clubs and next to well-known and extremely talented DJs – only the cream of the crop. Muzzi has also played alongside many internationals.
Among these accomplishments, he is also one of the founders of ‘Save The Last Trance,’ (alongside James Damian and DJ Speedy). This event was an attempt at re-introducing Trance to the night-life in Pretoria and it was very well received.
DJ Morgan said the following about Muzzi Muz:
[He] is one of the most versatile DJ’s in South Africa……this versatility, drive and passion which sets him apart and keeps people on his dancefloor and always coming back for more. Undoubtedly Muzzi is a force to be reckoned with.
